John Leach, eldest grandson of renowned potter Bernard Leach and son of David Leach, continues the family tradition at Muchelney Pottery on the Somerset levels. Master potters Nick Rees and Mark Melbourne work alongside John to produce the range.
Each piece is hand-thrown using local clays then wood fired in the kiln at temperatures exceeding 1300°C which creates the distinctive ‘toasted’ finish.
Each jar is unique, with it’s own identity, influenced by the firing technique. Available in 2 sizes these are a useful addition to your kitchen storage. The smaller size is suitable for anything from pulses to sugar. The larger size is suitable for tea, coffee, flour, pasta, rice...
