A generous hotpot, perfect for cooking casseroles and stews, part of John Leach's kitchenware range. John, eldest grandson of renowned potter Bernard leach who pioneered the revival of the English studio pottery movement and son of David Leach, continues the family tradition at Muchelney Pottery on the Somerset levels. Master potters Nick Rees and Mark Melbourne work alongside John to produce the range.
Each piece is hand-thrown using local clays then wood fired in the kiln at temperatures exceeding 1300°C which creates the distinctive ‘toasted’ finish on the outside. Each piece is unique with its own identity, influenced by the firing technique.
