French glazed terracotta confit pots were used primarily in the south of France to preserve cooked meats such as duck, prior to refrigeration. The lower part was left unglazed as it was buried in the ground to keep the contents cool. Once utilitarian in purpose, these antique, rustic pots now make a beautiful decorative addition around the home. They can be used to display flowers, branches or simply enjoyed on their own.
This is a one-of-a-kind rustic piece and shows wear and tear consistent with it's age.
