Chesil Dining Table
Named after the 18-mile pebble beach off the Dorset coast, Chesil is the first furniture collection to be designed by Oggetto and manufactured in our Dorset workshop.
This stretch of coastline is a constant source of inspiration for co-founder Charlie Camm who designed the collection.
“Looking down from the hills above the West Dorset coast, Chesil Beach stretches out with a purpose and elegance towards the Isle of Portland to the south. It’s a nuanced landscape with an integrity that I never tire of, from the vast openness of the ocean to the west, unyielding yet beguiling to the backwater known as the Fleet Lagoon to the east, offering shelter and a haven from the ever present westerly winds”.
The minimal, pared down design of Chesil celebrates the integrity of two very different materials, steel and oak, which are gracefully combined to produce finely balanced pieces. The rounded edges reflect the beach’s shelving form.
Chesil is a practical collection suited to modern and period interior settings with a strength which belies it's graceful aesthetic. The bench and tables have been designed to flat pack for easy transport and assembly.
From our workshop in Dorset we craft each piece from start to finish. This means that we can control the finest details, ensuring that everything is finished to the highest standard.
Our Chesil Dining Table is made to order with a lead time of 6 - 8 weeks.
